Awfully boring. I knew exactly how the movie would end within the first 10 minutes. It is cliched and predictable. The sets are preposterous, the songs weird - they just sang the script, it wasn't songs so much. Except for the longest song - something about friendship and how they were changed for good. Despite my boredom, and the length of the song, it was quite nice, though. My daughter (10yo) didn't appreciate it, she fell asleep. I was trying to find some deeper meaning, or story, as fantasies and fairy tales normally has them. But no, this one is as bland as they come. The most I could get is that the masses will believe what they will, and that once they have adopted a certain mindset, it is not easily changed, even if it is completely false.

Man, I wish I saw this on the big screen! Every time I watch it, I am fascinated and blown away. It is justsuch a fun movie, with an absolutely amazing soundtrack. I don't know about the accuracies in the movie or the details about F1, but I love the main character that went through hell, messed up his life, learnt from it, and has made his peace with it. He has found what he wants to do, and the 'noise' doesn't matter anymore. It's even a hit with my kids!

Our Experience

I cry every single time I watch it. It is an excellent watch, and excellently done. They used real Coast Guard employees in the movie and to consult, so a lot of the facts are true. The story itself is amazing, and it so clearly and unabashedly depicts the sacrifices these people choose to make. Character growth are shown with great realism. My heart just can't take the sheer magnitude of emotions - even after seeing it more than probably 10 times by now, it still catches me.

However, my kids do not feel the same and I have met other adults who also don't share the sentiment with the concepts of the movie. For them it is boring drama, despite the action sequences.
