Our Experience

Rating:        7/10

We loved it! Considering the story, we did not expect anything realistic. This is not an Oscar contender in our opinion, but we had such fun watching it. The comedy is authentic and fitting, with great sarcasm. There's a lot of swearing and a lot of violence.

The biggest thing that we absolutely DID NOT like, was the bad guy who played a fake Scot or something, who walked funny and just didn't pull off the attitude-crazed violence-loving egotistical maniac at all. The rest of the fun made up for it, but that was bad casting, bad acting, just... bad.

We're just common people who love movies, so I am not an expert at spotting effects, and CGI, and all those things. Apparently they used a lot, but on our first watch, we didn't see it. Maybe we'll see it on our second watch.

Synopsis:

Troubled former UFC middleweight fighter Elwood Dalton makes a living scamming fighters on the underground circuit. He is approached by Frankie, the owner of an unruly roadhouse in the Florida Keys community of Glass Key, who offers him a job as head bouncer. Initially hesitant, Dalton takes up the offer after narrowly averting a suicide attempt with a freight train that destroys his car. He takes a coach bus to Frankie's establishment, simply called 'The Road House,' and befriends Charlie, a teenager who runs a bookstore with her father, Stephen.
